Sarwan is the Senior Lawyer within Caxton’s Evening Advice Service (EAS) and is responsible for supervising volunteer legal practitioners who provide outside-business-hours advice to community members who would otherwise be unable to access legal assistance.
As a former EAS volunteer herself (2012 – 2017), she brings 14 years of practical experience, primarily in civil litigation and employment law, acting for both plaintiffs and defendants. This experience gives her insight into how all parties approach legal matters.
She has also worked in government and not-for-profit roles, including advocacy to remove time limitations on compensation claims for survivors of historical child abuse in institutions. She has appeared in all courts, including the High Court. In supervising work at Caxton, Sarwan draws on her extensive experience to support volunteers and empower clients to navigate legal processes and achieve successful outcomes.
