Anne-Louise is the Community Engagement and Education Leader within the Senior Legal and Support Service. She holds degrees in government and public policy, law, and social work, and completed her PhD on the financial abuse of older people with impaired capacity in 2007.
Her professional experience includes roles as a solicitor, school-based child and family counsellor, and Adjunct Associate Professor at The University of Queensland School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work. Anne-Louise worked for over 15 years with Queensland Health, including positions as a clinical social worker and Statewide Clinical Education Program Manager for Social Work and Welfare.
Her involvement with Caxton began as a short-term volunteer law student in the early 2000s. In 2019, she was the Metro South Health Partnership Coordinator during the development of the Elder Abuse SLASS Health Justice Partnership and was then seconded to Caxton in 2022. She continues her interest in the context of rights in practice by leading the “Capacity for Decision-Making, Guardianship and Options” Community of Practice (COP) for all Queensland service providers—a collaboration between Queensland Health System Policy Branch and Caxton established in 2023.
