Destinee is a Paralegal in the Seniors Legal and Support Service team at Caxton. She is a proud First Nations woman from the Yidinji Nation and Mer Island in the eastern Torres Strait and also has heritage from Papua New Guinea. In <year/age>, she relocated to Southeast Queensland to pursue tertiary education.
Destinee joined Caxton in November 2025 after four years in private practice. She is expected to graduate a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in December 2026. Following graduation, Destinee intends to complete her Practical Legal Training at Caxton and seeks admission as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Destinee has also undertaken a semester abroad with an Indigenous rights not-for-profit organisation while studying at an Indonesian university, where she developed her understanding of Bahasa Indonesia and hukum (law). This experience deepened her appreciation for international perspectives and human rights law.
