Cybele is the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Lawyer, where she shapes Caxton’s strategic vision to advance access to justice for Queenslanders. A legal leader with over 25 years’ experience, Cybele has built her career championing clients’ rights in domestic and family violence, elder law, and human rights. Her appointment as CEO in 2019 followed her role as a Legal Practice Director at Caxton, and before that, a senior lawyer and mediator in private practice.
She is a strong, values-driven leader who draws on systems thinking and diverse approaches to position Caxton at the forefront of excellence in community lawyering. Under her leadership, Caxton has intensified its impact, expanding integrated legal and social support services, elevating advocacy, and strengthened partnerships with government, community, and pro bono sectors. She thrives on fostering a culture where people are inspired and empowered to achieve meaningful outcomes for the individuals and communities Caxton supports.
