Nicola is an experienced executive director who recently transitioned to retirement after a rewarding and successful career within the Queensland Government including the Department of Justice. Throughout her career, she has held strategic leadership roles in Commonwealth and state jurisdictions leading change and reforming services and policy to meet government and community expectations. Career highlights have included establishing the Queensland financial assistance scheme for victims of violent crime, implementing Queensland’s first Victims’ Commissioner and leading dispute resolution services for Queensland’s community titles sector as a former Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management.
Nicola is a proud recipient of the Public Service Medal, an accredited mediator and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She has extensive experience in corporate governance and strategy. Social justice and improving access to services and the justice system has been a central focus of her work, and she is excited by the opportunity to contribute to the work of the committee and Caxton in achieving its vision of a just and inclusive Queensland.
