Thank you to our wonderful volunteers

This week Caxton Legal Centre is celebrating National Volunteer Week, recognising the contributions of our 200 hardworking volunteer lawyers and law students. Four nights per week, Caxton opens its doors to offer legal advice to people who would otherwise have very few options for help. Volunteer lawyers come to Caxton after a busy day at work and often stay until late at night ensuring that clients have been provided with high quality legal advice, information and  referrals. Front desk students act as the essential first port-of-call for people seeking help and are an enormous assistance to Caxton’s ever-busy administration team.

The community legal centre movement is built on the backs of volunteers – Caxton Legal Centre would not have commenced operation without volunteers when it opened its doors in 1976. Despite evolution in the service over the past 40 years, Caxton’s evening volunteer advice sessions have endured. In 2019 we heartily thank all of Caxton’s volunteers for their dedication and support.
