If you are a university law or social work student and identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, we would love to hear from you.
Caxton Legal Centre will prioritise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants for student volunteer roles and practical legal training placements.
If you do not feel confident to volunteer at present but are interested in a career in law or social work, we would still love to hear from you to discuss potential career paths.
Please complete this form if you are interested in one of these opportunities and a staff member will get in touch with you.
You can get involved by:
- volunteering at Caxton Legal Centre
- undertaking your practical legal training at Caxton Legal Centre (unpaid position). Available places are advertised on our Volunteer Law Students webpage
- conducting your social work placement at Caxton. One or two social work student placements are organised through your university each semester, however, Caxton is happy to be approached by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals who wish to undertake a placement with us. We can then jointly talk to your university
- participating in our student legal clinics organised through your university.
