Seniors Legal and Support Service use drama to educate about elder abuse

Caxton staff performing a roleplay

Caxton’s Seniors Legal and Support Service have been using drama to help illuminate people’s understanding of the dynamics that can play out when seniors experience elder abuse.

Staff perform short role plays that demonstrate how family relationships can make stopping elder abuse a highly emotional, stressful process and some of the positive outcomes that older people can experience as a consequence of taking action.

In addition to the role plays staff talk about the varied forms that elder abuse can take as part of these community legal education presentations. How to protect yourself and how Caxton’s Seniors Legal and Support Service works are also covered. Anyone interested in accessing this community legal education program should contact Caxton Legal Centre.
