Caxton Legal Centre has welcomed a new Chief Executive Officer, Peter Lyons. Peter brings extensive experience in community, government and the private sector to the role.
“I am excited to take on the position of Chief Executive Officer with Caxton Legal Centre at this transformative time in Queensland,” he said.
“Caxton has played a vital part in the work towards the recent Human Rights Bill tabled in Queensland Parliament. It is also a key player in responding to elder abuse as a founding member of Elder Abuse Action Australia and co-host of the 2019 National Elder Abuse Conference,” he said.
“I look forward to working with the committed team of staff at Caxton to drive further positive change towards ensuring the legal system is responsive and accessible to people across Queensland.”
Previous roles Peter has held include work with the Crime and Corruption Commission and most recently as the Director at Prisoners’ Legal Service.
