David is a lawyer in the Human Rights and Civil Law Practice focusing on Consumer Credit Law.

David has extensive experience working in this field as well as general consumer law having previously worked for Consumer Action Law Centre and LawRight. In addition David worked for many years in general commercial litigation as a private practitioner which brought broad experience in negotiation, mediation, civil legal practice and dispute resolution. He has a particular interest in extending the remedies available to vulnerable consumers adversely affected by breach of responsible lending laws and ensuring lending practices are fair and non – discriminatory.

Apart from legal qualifications David holds a Diploma in Social Science and Graduate Diploma of  Education. David has an interest in legal education and was for a time lecturer in law at James Cook University.
