Amanda is a human rights lawyer. She is currently Director Legal and Strategy at the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability.
Prior to joining the Royal Commission, Amanda was Director Policy and Advocacy at Community Legal Centres Australia, the peak body for all community legal centres in Australia. As part of her role, she coordinated strategic advocacy and campaigns, primarily on human rights and access to justice issues. This included the successful #FundEqualJustice campaign in relation to funding for community legal centres.
Amanda brings a wide range a wide range of experience to the management committee of Caxton, including in strategic advocacy, communications and campaigns, governance and strategic planning, policy and law reform, and research.
Amanda has experience in government, including at the Australian Law Reform Commission and Australian Government Solicitor, as well as in the not-for-profit sector both domestically and internationally.
