Expressions of Interest
Caxton is seeking expressions of interest from prospective professionals and community members interested in joining the management committee to fill two vacancies and complement the balance of skills and experience of existing committee members. You will offer, on a voluntary basis, a variety of leadership skills and personal/cultural characteristics that will support Caxton to continue to promote and protect the human rights of all Queenslanders.
This is an exciting voluntary role for someone with experience in the legal or community sector who understands the social issues that impact our client group and is looking for an opportunity to shape the ongoing work of a vital community legal centre in the heart of Brisbane city.
A strong commitment to legal assistance services, familiarity with the context of the legal assistance sector in Queensland, and experience in governance, strategic planning and financial management will be highly regarded—so will a desire to be part of Caxton’s reconciliation journey with Queensland’s First Nations peoples.
In particular, applicants who are under 45, identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, are from CALD backgrounds and applicants with a disability are encouraged to put in an expression of interest.
In addition, the committee is actively seeking expressions of interest for members with skills and experience in the following areas: policy development, industrial relations, financial management, funds development and fundraising, incorporation and legal compliance, and marketing and promotion.
